Your gentle purr hums low, a soft delight,
Like motors whirring, smooth and deep in tone.
Your fur is silk, aglow in golden light,
A velvet warmth that lingers when you’re gone.
So lovely yet you bring me gifts unfit,
A lifeless rat upon the kitchen floor.
Its guts spill out—disgusting, foul, and sick—
I beg you, cat, don’t bring me these no more.
Sleeping sixteen hours a day, lazy bum,
How I wish I could live like you, so free.
No stress, no toil, no worries yet to come,
Just sunlit naps watching birds lit with glee.
Dou Dou, green pea, soft and adorable,
A furry friend whose love is endless gold.
